Swallowtail Butterfly

This beautiful stamp is one that I love stamping.  The detail of this Swallowtail
stamp is amazing. He is beautiful just stamped and magnificent when embossed. This time I embossed him with black EP on cardstock vellum. Colored the backside using daubers inked in Marine Mist, Sahara Sand and Certainly Celery.
I then cut him out and placed him on a piece of Very Vanilla that had been embossed using the Fancy Fan Folder.  The saying " Live in the Sunshine" came from the Pursuit of Happiness stamp set.

I then attached him to the card using glue dots.  The glue dots are hidden by the EP and he looks like he is flying off the card.

Keep this stamp in mind when we find out on April 24th, 2013  which stamp sets will retire.  The base card is Bashful Blue which was just announced it will retire and is only available while supplies last.  If you " love" that color pace an order today

Beautiful, I have been playing with my swallowtail a lot and lot all the things you can do with him. of course I love butterflies and they have a special meaning since my dad died. I always picture him as one. It always seems when I am having a tough day one manages to cross my path and cheers me up.

Barb, those colors look fantastic together - that's one thing about SU colors - they all blend together so beautifully. Great idea about coloring from under neath so that the shading is softer. Really glad you took the close-ups, Barbara, and had the larger size to click on. The shading looks fabulous! hugs, de
